Los Beneficios de un Préstamo para Feriados

The benefits of a holiday loan

By Anna Haug

Do you need help stretching your holiday budget a little further? Many credit unions are getting ready for the holiday season by offering a loan specific for holiday expenses.

It is important to make smart financial choices during the holiday season. The choices you make may affect you financially for much longer than just the holiday season. "Spending during the Holiday months can make or break them financially, with the ramifications of poor decisions following them for months or years," said Gail Cunningham, vice president of public relations for the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, (NFCC) Silver Spring, Md.

There are many expenses to consider during the holidays. According to the American Research Group, in 2009 shoppers reported spending an average of $417 for gifts alone during the holidays. In addition to buying gifts, other expenses are travel and the cost of food and entertaining guests.

There are many benefits to taking out a holiday loan. One of the many benefits of a holiday loan is that you have the money to spend on creating memories for you and your family that you are able to pay back later. Also, instead of putting purchases on a credit card and risk having to pay interest rates of 10% and higher, a holiday loan offers a more economical option if you qualify.

Remember that a Holiday loan is meant to help make the Holidays easier for you to manage financially. You should not view them as a tool to add to the amount of money you would typically spend. Instead, use these loans as a way to pay for what you would typically spend over time.

Contact your credit union for more information about what options they have for helping you make your holidays special.
